Accessibility Statement
What we have built in, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.
This statement has not yet been independently audited
The accessibility features below are genuinely implemented in this website. However, no independent accessibility audit or assistive-technology testing has been carried out yet, so we are not claiming formal conformance to any standard.
Claiming a conformance level without testing would be exactly the kind of unverified assertion we avoid elsewhere on this site.
Our commitment
We believe every person bears the image of God, and that conviction has practical consequences for a website as much as for a distribution queue. A site that excludes people with disabilities is not serving everyone it claims to serve.
So accessibility has been built into this site from the start rather than retrofitted, and we would rather be told about a failure than left to assume everything is fine.
What this website does
Structure and semantics
- Proper HTML landmarks — header, navigation, main, footer — on every page.
- One
h1per page, with a logical heading order beneath it. - Lists marked up as lists, and quotations as blockquotes with attribution.
- Breadcrumb trails on interior pages, marked up as navigation.
- A “skip to main content” link as the first focusable element.
Keyboard and focus
- Every interactive element is reachable and operable with a keyboard alone.
- A single, high-contrast focus ring is used consistently across the site.
- Navigation menus are buttons with
aria-expanded, not hover-only traps. - Escape closes open menus and returns focus to the control that opened them.
- Accordions use native
detailselements, which work without JavaScript.
Images and media
- Every content image has descriptive alternative text.
- Decorative graphics and icons are hidden from assistive technology.
- Images sit in fixed-ratio frames, so content does not jump as the page loads.
- There is no audio or video that plays automatically.
Forms
- Every field has a visible label, properly associated with its input.
- Required fields are marked visually and announced to screen readers.
- Errors are announced, described in words, and linked to the field concerned.
- Autocomplete attributes are set so browsers can fill fields reliably.
- We never rely on placeholder text in place of a label.
Colour, contrast and text
- Text and background combinations are chosen to meet AA contrast ratios.
- Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
- Text is real text, not images of text, so it scales and reflows.
- The layout works when text is enlarged, and at 320 pixels wide without horizontal scrolling.
Motion
- Animation is deliberately minimal and never conveys meaning on its own.
- We respect the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting: if your device asks for reduced motion, animations and smooth scrolling are switched off. - Nothing flashes, blinks or moves continuously.
Known limitations
Being honest about the gaps:
- No independent audit yet. We have not had this site tested by an accessibility specialist or against assistive technologies in a formal process.
- Placeholder content. Values shown in square brackets are awaiting real information. They are announced to screen readers as placeholders, but they will still read oddly until replaced.
- Placeholder photography. Alternative text describes the stock images currently in place. It must be rewritten when real photographs are substituted.
- Downloads. No documents are published yet. When they are, each PDF must be tagged, structured and readable by a screen reader — an untagged PDF is inaccessible however good the page linking to it.
- Future third-party embeds. A payment provider or map embed added later will bring its own accessibility characteristics, which we will need to test and document here.
If something does not work for you
Please tell us. Describe what you were trying to do, what happened, and what you were using — browser, device and any assistive technology. That detail makes a problem far easier to reproduce and fix.
We will acknowledge your message, tell you honestly whether and when we can fix it, and in the meantime give you the information you were after in whatever format works for you — by phone, by email, in large print, or read aloud.

Enforcement
If you are not satisfied with how we respond to an accessibility complaint, you may be able to escalate it to a regulator in your country.
