Cookie Policy

What this site stores on your device, and what it deliberately does not.

As built, this website sets no cookies of its own

There is currently no analytics, no advertising technology, no social media pixel and no consent banner on this site — because there is nothing yet that would require one.

This policy describes that position accurately and sets out what must be added here if analytics, a payment provider or an embedded map is introduced later.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website can store on your device. They are used to remember preferences, keep you signed in, measure how a site is used, and — most controversially — to track people across different websites for advertising.

Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and embedded scripts. This policy covers all of them.

2. What this website currently uses

As built, this website sets no cookies. It has no analytics package, no advertising technology, no social media tracking pixels and no third-party embeds that would set cookies on our behalf.

The only third-party requests the site makes are for placeholder photography served from an image CDN and for web fonts, which are self-hosted by the site rather than requested from an external font service.

3. What may be added later, and what it would mean

Three things would change this position, and this section must be updated if any of them are introduced.

A payment provider

When online giving goes live, the payment provider will almost certainly set cookies that are strictly necessary to process a transaction securely and prevent fraud. Those are generally exempt from consent requirements, but they must still be disclosed here.

Analytics

If the organisation wants to understand how the site is used, our recommendation is a privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics tool that does not track individuals across sites. If a cookie-based tool is chosen instead, a consent mechanism will be required before it loads.

Planned tool: [Analytics Tool, if any] (placeholder, awaiting content)

An embedded map or video

Embedded maps and video players routinely set third-party cookies as soon as they load. The map on our contact page is currently a static image precisely to avoid this. If a live embed is added, it should load only after the visitor chooses to interact with it.

4. What we will not do

  • We will not add advertising or cross-site tracking technology.
  • We will not share visitor data with advertising networks.
  • We will not use a consent banner designed to make refusing harder than accepting.
  • We will not load non-essential trackers before consent is given.

5. How to control cookies

Every major browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and block them in future — usually under a settings section called Privacy, Security or Site Data. You can block all cookies if you wish; some websites will stop working properly as a result, though this one will not.

Browsers also offer private or incognito modes, which discard cookies when you close the window.

6. Changes to this policy

If we introduce anything that stores information on your device, we will update this page before doing so and note the date of the change at the top.

7. Questions

If you want to know exactly what this site requests from your browser, ask us and we will tell you. Our contact details are on the contact page.
