Fundraise

Rally the people around you

Fundraising works best when you can tell your sponsors exactly what they are backing. We will help you be specific and accurate.

Ideas

Six things supporters actually do

Not an exhaustive list. If you have a better idea, we would like to hear it.

Take on a challenge

A run, a ride, a climb or a swim. Ask your sponsors to give towards a specific piece of work so they know exactly what they are backing.

Host a community meal

A shared meal with a short talk about a specific community. Simple, personal, and consistently one of the most effective things supporters do.

Give up something for a season

Lent, Advent or a set month — give the cost of what you have set aside. Works especially well as a household or small group.

Mark a celebration

Ask for gifts to the ministry instead of presents for a birthday, wedding or anniversary.

Run a school or workplace appeal

A focused appeal towards one project, with material we provide so the framing is accurate and respectful.

Take a church offering

A dedicated offering with service resources, prayer material and a short talk outline supplied by us.

What we provide

Support for your fundraiser

  • Material explaining a specific piece of work you can fundraise for
  • Accurate figures and framing, so you are not guessing
  • Printable sponsorship forms and posters
  • A named contact who will actually answer your emails
  • Guidance on speaking about the work respectfully
  • A report afterwards on what your total supported

Online fundraising pages are not yet available

We have not connected a payment provider or a fundraising platform to this website, so we cannot yet host an online sponsorship page for you.

Contact us and we will arrange the best available route for collecting your sponsorship in the meantime.

Please be safe and legal

  • Check whether your event needs a licence, insurance or a risk assessment — a raffle, a public collection or a food event often does.
  • Tell us before you start using our name, so we can confirm you are authorised and make sure the material you use is accurate.
  • Never take a physical or financial risk for a fundraiser. No total is worth it.
  • If children are involved, make sure the appropriate supervision and consents are in place.

Fundraise for something specific

“I am raising money for charity” is much harder to sponsor than “I am raising money to get a broken water point working again before the dry season”. The second tells your sponsors exactly what they are buying into.

Contact us before you start and we will suggest something concrete from our current priorities, with accurate detail you can use. Our urgent needs page is a good place to look first.

What we will ask of you

Only two things, and neither is onerous. Please let us know before you use our name, so we can confirm the details you are sharing are accurate. And please use the material we send rather than images found online — our consent standards for photography apply to fundraising material too, and stock images of children in distress do real harm.

Afterwards

Tell us the total and we will tell you what it supported. Where a fundraiser reaches a meaningful amount we will report specifically on what it funded, rather than thanking you in generalities.

Tell us your plan

Register your fundraiser

We will send material, suggest something specific to fundraise for, and give you a named contact.

What you are planning, when, roughly how many people are involved, and what you would like to fundraise for.
