Giving FAQs
Questions about giving, answered plainly
Including the ones about overheads and where the money really goes.
Answers
Making a gift
Can I give on this website right now?
Not yet. This website presents the giving interface but no payment provider is connected, so no transaction can be completed and no card details are collected or stored. Please use the contact page to arrange a gift in the meantime, and online giving will go live once a provider is in place.
Where does my money go if I do not choose a designation?
Gifts given to where it is needed most are allocated by our programme team to the areas our partners have identified as most pressing. In practice this is the most useful way to give, because it lets funds move to genuine priorities rather than to whichever cause is most visible.
If I designate my gift to a specific ministry, does it really go there?
Yes. A designated gift goes to the area you chose. If circumstances ever made that impossible, we would contact you and ask what you would like to do rather than quietly reallocating it.
Can I change or cancel a monthly gift?
At any time, with a single message, and you will not be pursued about it. Monthly partners are not locked into anything.
Is giving by card the best way?
Once online giving is live, the method that costs us least in processing fees will be noted on the donation page so you can choose if it matters to you. Transfers directly from a bank account typically carry lower fees than cards.
Tax, receipts and records
Will I receive a receipt?
Yes. Once online giving is live, a receipt will be issued for every gift, with an annual summary for regular givers. [Confirm receipting arrangements and timings once the payment provider is connected.]
Is my gift tax deductible?
This depends on where you are resident and on the organisation's registration status in your country. We cannot give tax advice. [Add the organisation's registration details and the tax treatment of gifts in each relevant country once confirmed.]
Can you help me with the tax implications of a gift of shares or a legacy?
We can explain the mechanics of how to make the gift, but we cannot advise on tax or legal matters and would not attempt to. Please take independent professional advice before making a planned gift.
Your details and our conduct
Will you share or sell my details?
Never. Your information is not sold, rented, swapped or passed to any third party for their own marketing, under any circumstances.
Will I be contacted constantly once I give?
No. You choose what you hear from us and how often, and you can change it whenever you like. Our prayer updates deliberately carry no fundraising appeals — they are two different things and we keep them separate.
How much of my gift goes on administration?
Running an organisation properly costs money — staff, audit, safeguarding, monitoring and honest reporting all have a price, and pretending otherwise would be misleading. We publish our cost breakdown rather than disguising overheads as programme spend. [Insert the current published breakdown here.]
Can I see what my money achieved?
Yes. We report on how funds are used and what changed, in plain language, including the parts that did not go as planned. Our reports are on the resources pages.
Question not answered here?
Our supporter care team will answer it properly — and if we cannot evidence a figure, we will say so rather than estimate.
