The role

What you would be doing

  • Maintain and review the safeguarding policy and procedures
  • Train staff, trustees, volunteers and partner focal points
  • Receive, investigate and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Report to the board on safeguarding without filtering

What we are looking for

  • Substantial safeguarding experience in an international context
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and referral frameworks
  • Independence of judgement and considerable resilience
  • Willingness to challenge senior leaders

Working here

We are a small organisation. There is no large team behind you, you will do your own administration, and the work is demanding. Programme roles involve travel to partner communities, sometimes in difficult conditions.

We also expect staff to be able to challenge leadership, and we protect people who do. Safeguarding training is mandatory for every role without exception.
