Ways to give
Donor-Advised Funds
If you already give through a donor-advised fund or charitable trust, you can recommend a grant to us.
How this works
What it involves
A donor-advised fund lets you set money aside for charitable giving, take any available tax benefit at that point, and then recommend grants to specific organisations over time.
If you hold one, recommending a grant to us is straightforward — and multi-year recommendations are particularly valuable, because they give us the predictability that lets us make long commitments to communities.
We are glad to provide whatever documentation your fund administrator requires, and to report back on what the grant achieved in whatever format is useful to you.
Step by step
Check we are eligible for your fund
Fund administrators usually require a charity to be registered in a particular jurisdiction. Contact us and we will confirm whether we qualify for yours, or whether an intermediary is needed.
Request our details
We will provide our full legal name, registered address and registration details in the format your administrator asks for.
Recommend the grant
Submit the recommendation through your fund's usual process, ideally including a reference so we can identify it on arrival.
Consider a multi-year recommendation
If your fund allows it, a recommendation spread across several years is markedly more useful to us than the same total given at once.
Tell us what reporting you need
Some administrators require specific reporting. Tell us what is needed and we will supply it, including honest reporting of what did not work.
Questions
Common questions
Are you eligible to receive grants from my fund?
That depends on our registration status in your jurisdiction and your administrator's requirements. Please contact us before recommending a grant and we will confirm, or explain what route would be needed.
Can I give anonymously?
Yes. Many administrators allow anonymous grants. Please tell us if you would still like to receive reporting, and how we should send it.
Can I recommend a grant to a specific ministry area?
Yes, and it will go there. Note the recommendation clearly and we will honour it — or contact you if circumstances ever made that impossible.
What reporting will you provide?
Whatever your administrator requires, plus our standard reporting on how funds were used and what changed. That includes the parts that underperformed, which some funders find unusual and most tell us they value.
