Prayer team
Pray for one community, by name, over years
A few minutes a week. Specific requests from specific places, and honest reporting on what happened next.
What you will receive
Our commitments to you
- A short prayer update by email, with specific requests from named communities.
- Occasional urgent requests when a partner asks for prayer immediately.
- Answers and outcomes reported back, including when the answer was not what we hoped.
- No fundraising appeals inside prayer updates. They are two different things and we keep them separate.
- Your details are never shared, sold or passed to any third party.
Why we keep prayer and fundraising separate
It is common practice to attach an appeal to a prayer update, because people who have just prayed for a situation give more readily. It works.
It also turns prayer into a conversion step in a funnel, which is a poor way to treat both prayer and the people doing it. So our prayer updates carry no fundraising, and they never will.

How it works
From a partner community to your inbox
A partner shares a request
Usually through a regular conversation with our programme team, sometimes urgently by phone when something has happened.
We check before sharing
We confirm consent, and we generalise or withhold anything that would put a person or community at risk if published.
It reaches you specifically
Named, particular, and framed so you can actually pray about it rather than pray around it.
You pray
A few minutes. Alone, with your family, or in a small group. Several churches use our list in their prayer meeting.
We follow up
We go back to the partner and ask what happened, which is more work than it sounds and the reason this is worth doing.
We report honestly
Including when the answer was not what anyone hoped. Reporting only answered prayer would misrepresent what prayer is like.
Praying as a group
A good number of the people on our prayer list use it with others — a house group, a church prayer meeting, a family at breakfast, two colleagues at lunch.
If that is you, tell us when you sign up. We can send material in a format that works for a group, and where a church wants to adopt one partner community we can connect them properly rather than sending a generic list.
What we ask of you
Only two things. Please treat the requests as confidential where we mark them so — some reach you precisely because they are not published on the open prayer wall. And please tell us if the frequency stops working for you, rather than quietly deleting the emails. We would far rather adjust than lose you.
Our partners pray for you
This is not a courtesy. Partner congregations pray for supporters as consistently as supporters pray for them, frequently with more discipline, and they ask us regularly what to pray for on your behalf.
If you would like something carried to them, tell us. It is one of the most genuinely two-way parts of this whole relationship.
“Heaven is full of answers to prayer for which no one ever bothered to ask.”
