Where we serve

Latin America & Caribbean

Urban margins and highland villages

Overview

Our work in Latin America & Caribbean

Our partners here work both in the informal settlements ringing large cities and in highland villages a long way from any of them.

Youth work, family support, livelihoods and peacebuilding in neighbourhoods affected by violence are the central priorities, almost always led by congregations rooted in those same streets.

The context shaping this work

  • Violence and insecurity shaping daily life in some neighbourhoods.
  • Rapid, unplanned urban growth outpacing basic services.
  • Highland communities isolated by distance and poor roads.

Prayer

Pray for Latin America & Caribbean

These requests come from partner communities in this region. Our prayer team receives them as they arrive, including urgent ones.

  • Young people in neighbourhoods affected by violence

    Urgent

Youth workers are mentoring young people under real pressure to join groups involved in violence. Pray for the mentors' safety and for young people choosing a different path.

  • Highland communities cut off by weather

Roads to several highland communities have become impassable, delaying supplies and medical referrals. Pray for safe travel and for the roads to reopen.

“The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.”

Psalm 24:1
