Where we serve

Southeast Asia

Remote communities, and the seasons that decide everything

Overview

Our work in Southeast Asia

Partners in this region serve remote communities several hours from the nearest town, where storms and flooding arrive predictably and destructively.

Preparedness, agriculture, clean water and the training of local church leaders who serve scattered villages are the mainstays of the work.

The context shaping this work

  • Annual storm and flood seasons damaging homes and crops.
  • Long travel times to markets, clinics and secondary schools.
  • Small, widely scattered congregations sharing one leader.

Prayer

Pray for Southeast Asia

These requests come from partner communities in this region. Our prayer team receives them as they arrive, including urgent ones.

  • Communities in the storm season

    Urgent

Storm season is approaching for remote coastal and island communities. Pray for preparedness plans to be followed, and for homes, crops and boats to be protected.

  • A clinic waiting on power

A rural clinic is waiting on a solar installation that would let it open after dark and store vaccines. Pray for the work to be completed before the wet season closes the roads.

“The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.”

Psalm 24:1
